Day 2: Chosen Before You Could Earn It

Reading: Ephesians 1:3-6

Devotional: Ephesians 1:3-6 reveals one of the most staggering truths in all of Scripture -- God chose you in Christ before the world was even created. He did not wait to see how you would perform. He did not take a vote among those who knew you. He decided, in advance, to adopt you into His own family, and it brought Him great pleasure to do so. This means your value was never up for debate. You did not earn your place in His family, and you cannot lose it through failure. You were chosen not because of what you do, but because of who He is.

Reflection: Write down three labels others have placed on you that conflict with what God says about you. Next to each one, write what Scripture says instead. Let God's Word be the final word.
