Day 3: Living From Love, Not For It

Reading: Matthew 3:16-17

Devotional: Before Jesus preached a single sermon or performed a single miracle, the Father declared His love and pleasure over Him. God did not say, "I will be pleased with you once you have done enough." He spoke identity over Jesus before the ministry even began. This is the model for how God relates to you as well. You do not work your way into His approval -- you work from the approval He has already given you in Christ. When you understand that you are already loved and already accepted, obedience stops being a performance and starts being a response to grace.

Reflection: Spend time today meditating on the truth that God's love for you is not conditional on your productivity or performance. Ask Him to help you live from that love rather than constantly striving to earn it.
