Day 5: Drawing Near

Devotional: Here's a liberating truth: You are as close to God as you want to be. If you feel distant from Him, you can change that today. Drawing near requires three things: humility (recognizing your need), submission (surrendering your will), and resistance (saying a loud "no" to temptation). When you take one step toward God, He rushes toward you. The problem isn't God's availability—it's our divided attention. We keep our eyes on worldly things, and the things of God grow strangely dim. But when we turn our eyes upon Jesus and look full in His wonderful face, everything else fades in comparison. Today, get serious. Get on your knees. Draw near to Him with undivided devotion, and experience the closeness you've been longing for.
