Day 4: Divided Loyalty

Devotional: You cannot serve two masters. A divided heart will always lead to a diminished life. James uses shocking language—calling divided believers "adulterers"—because flirting with the world while claiming to love God is spiritual adultery. The world promises fulfillment but delivers emptiness. God promises His presence and delivers abundantly more than we can imagine. Yet we keep one foot in each kingdom, wondering why we feel spiritually dry. The solution isn't trying harder; it's surrendering completely. God opposes the proud who think they can manage both worlds, but gives grace to the humble who admit they need Him fully. Today, ask yourself honestly: What worldly pursuit am I allowing to compete with my devotion to God?
