What Obedience Looks Like

Reading: Matthew 16:24-26

Devotional: Jesus never sugarcoated the cost: "Deny yourself, take up your cross, die, then follow me." Yet what we release into God's hands is rarely lost—it's redeemed. Surrendered lives discover that obedience, though uncomfortable, leads to purpose beyond anything we could manufacture ourselves. That coworker God keeps bringing to mind, that relationship needing forgiveness, that calling you've been avoiding—these are invitations to experience God's power in your everyday life. You don't need to be eloquent or qualified; you just need to be surrendered. What would full obedience look like for you today? Where is God asking you to show up surrendered, trusting Him with the outcome? The life you gain through surrender will be far more exciting than anything you're holding onto.
