Day 3: Light Overcomes Darkness
Devotional: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." This is more than poetic language; it's a declaration of war and a promise of victory. When Jesus died on the cross, the enemy thought the light had been extinguished. But three days later, the light blazed brighter than ever. Two thousand years later, that light still cannot be overcome. In your darkest moments, when depression whispers lies, when addiction tightens its grip, when shame tries to bury you—the light still shines. Like those trick birthday candles that reignite after being blown out, Christ's light in you cannot be permanently extinguished. You may feel overwhelmed by darkness, but remember: it only takes a small light to pierce complete darkness. The light doesn't just survive the darkness; it transforms it.
Reflection: What darkness in your life needs to be reminded that it cannot overcome the light of Christ within you?
